VLC Media Player appears with an oversized window

I'm running VLC Player with Windows 7. Very recently, each time I activate VLC, it appears on screen with its right and bottom edges way out of sight. I can fix that of course by draging the top left corner this way and that each time but that's a pain and shouldn't be necessary. Is there a way I can avoid having to do this in future, perhaps somewhere within the dozens of VLC settings? I...
