unable to download wave editor

I had been using DAK wave editor, but for some reason now it will not open when I click on the shortcut - comes up with an error message, "search the web" or "enter a location". Unistalled that program and Googled "wave editor", decided to try Word Pad - that gave the same result. I suspect one of the utilies, I use MSE, MBAM and Spywareblaster, but when I go into msconfig I don't see any of...
