I was just trying to install the regular directx end user run times through the dx websetup but, after the installation completed, the Program Compatibility Assitant popped up and asked to install the software again. I said "yes" but it never made it passed the initial install preparation setup phase where it crashed. I don't remember getting the Assistant on previous installs of directx so why...
